THIS post, I decided to document our dining room makeover.

| A "Before" shot. |
We will be tackling the entire house over the next few months. We haven;t been able to do much since moving in right before the wedding in September. Most people that have come over have said, "Its not that bad. I like these colors." Well, for us, living in this dirty, earth toned rental has been less that satisfying. I can;t even begin to describe the sad state of the paint jobs that have gone on in this house. The trim was last painted probably somewhere close to 1982. You can see bits of purple and pink paint everywhere, underneath and poking out from the pale mustard yellow and minty greens, and don;t get me started on the trim in the guest room, where our landlord pulled up shag carpet to reveal hardwoods but never repainted the trim. ITS EFFING HIDEOUS.

| Another "before" notice our cute cocktail menu from last nights party. |
| Step one, take down art, put everything in middle. |
| next, cover with tarp and have husband paint ceiling. |
| one finished wall. those doors are cheap and ugly. go buy a curtain. |
| I love chalkboard paint, cutting in on a huge wall with runny black paint, not so much. |
| almost there. |
| hanging curtains. notice that i put up our awesome new chandelier for kicks. it looks great dangling from the90's sponge painted fan. really. |
| now the neighbors won;t see me in my underwear when i come down for coffee and i don;t have to look at those cheap plastic doors. |
| the chalkboard paint is still curing. I will post a pic when its done and we can draw! |
So here is the beginning of the journey, from yucky rental to amazing rental that will make everyone jealous. We decided to really go all out because we plan on staying for a long time.... we even painted the frickin ceiling, and it looks amazing. Of course now, It looks like a room from someone else's house has been transplanted into ours. next is the kitchen, which you can see in the back. lovely periwinkle blue countertops, mint green walls and almond appliances.. just lovely.................
love it! and love the new table!
